Yes, I can.

I started having someone help me with my household chores every other week during the school year. She cleans the bathrooms, the kitchen, living room and does my floors. I am so guilty of feeling guilty about needing help. Two weeks ago, when we started the “boss” approach to Holly’s healing adventure, I started shelling out money like you cannot even imagine. Between the appointments and toll roads and supplements, soaks, and start ups, I just felt like I should cut back where possible. Not to mention Christmas is in 12 days. ((breathe))… I called my girl and told her that I needed to take a break until after the first of the year for financial purposes. I mean, I’m home- right?

No. The answer is NO. I am not home. I am running to 1,000 appointments and when I am home, I’m still catching up from being gone and if we’re really honest, I’m not going to clean like she does. So, I was thinking that I cannot afford to pay for help with my house. Yes, yes I can. I absolutely can. I can cut back on one of the amount of things I put in my Amazon account for gifts. I can cut back on other things. Having a clean house is important and I don’t want to do it. And, I’m not good at it. So, yes, I can. I’m going to call my girl and beg her to forgive me and ask her to please come help me next week.

Y’all… let’s not do this to ourselves. If you enjoy, really enjoy getting your nails done- do it. If it’s your hair- do it. If it’s a Starbucks- do it. We can’t have a million guilty pleasures, but we all make a ton of sacrifices for others every single day. In 2020, I resolve to be nicer to myself and to never again cancel my cleaning services. I need her in my life and I deserve to not feel guilty about needing help. You shouldn’t feel guilty either. You give of yourself, too. I know it. So, make that resolution with me.

New 2020 mantra: I am the boss. I will be nice to myself. Yes, I can.

Say what? I stepped outside this morning to grab the reading glasses from my car. I looked up and there are 6 vehicles in my driveway. ...
